Work & Travel USA - J1 Visa Seasonal Description Work & Travel USA is a program that helps U.S. companies to meet their seasonal staffing needs, while enabling international students to experience the U.S. first-hand as both employees and tourists. Year after year overseas students continue to take advantage of this unique program that provides them with in-depth exposure to life in the U.S. and the opportunity to work and travel. As an employer, this program offers you an opportunity not only to fill a labor shortage or to meet seasonal demands, but also to diversify your workplace and to engage in the rewarding enterprise of intercultural exchange. Whatever the position, these students offer a new perspective, language skills and an eagerness to work, learn, and adapt to their new surroundings. Work & Travel Students Participant Eligibility All participants on the Work & Travel USA program are university students with strong English skills who are authorized to accept employment in the United States for up to 4 months during the period coinciding with the summer vacation in their home country. Upon expiration of their 4-month visa, students are granted a 30-day travel period by the U.S. government. Although they are no longer authorized to work, this period allows them to further explore the U.S. before they return home to resume their studies.
